Springfield School Volunteers (SSV) is pleased to announce that it has been certified by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as a Service Enterprise!
SSV is only the second Western Massachusetts organization ever to achieve this national recognition. As a Service Enterprise, SSV now joins the top 11% of non-profits nationwide in volunteer management and organizational performance. Certification signifies that SSV has the capability and management expertise to strategically use volunteers to improve the performance of the organization.
Through the completion of a comprehensive assessment, more than 20 hours of training and coaching, and an extensive internal planning and change process, SSV is now better equipped to the leverage the time and talents of our volunteers to better support our mission.
Director of Programs and Services Patricia Hanson-Staples noted that “by utilizing the Service Enterprise training and tools, we can build our own capacity sustainably, which positions us to be more effective in our service to our community. ” In a congratulatory letter from Points of Light the certifier stated, “It was a pleasure to review this application… It is clear in so many ways that Springfield School Volunteers embodies the Service Enterprise standards of excellence.”
